A week after being nominated by the 30th Senate District Committee to replace former NY State Senator and now Lieutenant Governor Brian Benjamin, Cordell Cleare gathered community and elected leaders at her headquarters for a Harlem Unite event.

Several community leaders including former Congressmember Charles Rangel, Assemblyman Al Taylor, and District leader Keith Lilly attended the event.

“We are stronger together,” said Democratic nominee Cordell Cleare. “This is not about politics. It is about the people and what we need to do for them.”

Cordell Cleare, who leads the Michelle Obama Community Democratic Club, is a district leader with more than 20 years of community leadership under her belt. Cleare was also Bill Perkins’ chief of staff at the City Council and the New York Senate from 1998 to 2016.
