Defending champions, Tunisia, kicked out of Afrobasket

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – Egypt Tuesday stunned defending champions Tunisia, defeating their fellow north Africans 77-67 in the knockout stage of the Afrobasket in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan.

The Tunisians were no match for the Egyptians, lagging behind in the first quarter of the game (15-19) and unable to improve in the quarter before half-time.

On resumption, Egypt continued to dominate and vaulted to 55-46 on the score sheet before finally winning 77-67.

The Egyptians will now play against the winner of the match between Cape Verde and Congo.
