City discusses contribution of immigrants in New York City’s fashion industry

The NYC Department of Records and Information Services hosted a panel discussion on the historical relationship between immigrants and the city’s fashion industry on January 23, 2020 in Manhattan.
 
The panel moderated by Bitta Mostofi, commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, included Ngozi Okaro, executive director at Custom Collaborative; JAHNKOY, Russian-born multidisciplinary artist; Titina Penzini, fashion consultant; Tessa Maffucci, professor of fashion history and theory at Pratt Institute and Nurhaizatul Jamil, assistant professor in Global South Studies at Pratt Institute.
