Cannabis NYC kicks off listening and learning tour at NYCHA Melrose Community Center in the Bronx

Cannabis NYC, an initiative under the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), launched in 2022 to support the development of a thriving and equitable cannabis industry kicked off its Lift Off! Cannabis NYC Listening & Learning Tour on February 11, 2023, in the Bronx, at the NYCHA Melrose Community Center.

Cannabis NYC partnered with several organizations in the industry space to educate the community on the burgeoning cannabis industry in New York City.

The kickoff included a panel discussion with Cannabis NYC founding director Dasheeda Dawson, NYC Sheriff Anthony Miranda, Young Men’s Initiative’s Deputy Executive Director Nathifa Forde and Cannabis NYC Senior advisor Warren Gardiner.

Among the city officials who attended the event were SBS Commissioner Kevin D. Kim, Commissioner of the new Mayor’s Office of Equity Sideya Sherman and Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson.
