Bedford Stuyvesant Museum of African Art honors Ruth Carter, Rob Garria, Keninee Gilmore, Minister Tony Muhammad and James Shaw, Jr. at 4th Annual Madiba Humanitarian Award

The Bedford Stuyvesant Museum of African Art (BSMAA) honored Ruth Carter, Black Panther’s costume designer; Rob Garria Founder pf Throwaway Children Foundation; Keninee Gilmore, founder of Fostercare; Minister Tony Muhammad of the United in Peace Movement, James Shaw, Jr., Waffle House hero who disarmed gunman in Tennesse during its 4th Annual Madiba Humanitarian Award held on October 13, 2018 at the Brooklyn Museum

African stit walkers, Gumball dancers and the Guro Mask dancer performed during the event.

The annual event honors individuals who exemplify principles that the late, former South African President, Nelson Mandela, embodied in his life: his idea of a just society, his exceptional dignity and his unwavering sacrifices toward helping humanity.
