African New Yorker Abdourahamane Diallo announces run for NYC Council District 16

African New Yorker and candidate for New York City Council District 16 Abdourahamane Diallo held a pre-launch campaign press conference for the African community on August 14, 2019 in the Bronx.

The 28-year-old Guinean American who came to the US just 8 years ago to pursue higher education is the general secretary of the Bronx Borough President’s African Advisory Council, a member of Bronx Community Board 3 and the founder of the Guinean Students Association (GSA).

Abdourahamane Diallo holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College and will be pursuing a master’s degree in global affairs at Tsinghua University in China.

After years of advocacy in the African community, Diallo says he is ready to expand his reach to the entire New York City Council District 16.
