Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) – African countries have been urged to work harder to accelerate regional economic integration, fight poverty, create wealth, reduce unemployment as well as make the continent more competitive at the global level.
The charge was contained in the African Development Bank (AfDB) report which has just been posted on the bank’s official website.
The report entitled, ”The African Development Report (ADR) 2014 – Regional Integration for Inclusive Growth”, was released last week at the Bank’s headquarters in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
It discussed extensively the relevance of regional integration in a changing global context; the importance and role of Regional Economic Communities (REC); the impact of regional infrastructure and the implications of the inter-regional migration of factors of production, especially on labour, among others.
