African Burial Ground commemorates the 19th anniversary of ancestors’ reinterment

The African Burial Ground National Monument commemorated the 19th anniversary of the reinterment of the ancestors with libation, singing, dancing, and drumming on October 8, 2022.

The African Burial ground is the oldest and largest known excavated burial ground in North America for free and enslaved Africans.
