The Unified Network of Business Professionals hosted the 7th Annual Young Gifted and Black Entrepreneurial Awards on June 6, 2012 at 404 NYC in Manhattan, in honor of Caribbean Heritage Month.
After a video greeting from Congresswoman Yvette Clarke and a speech by keynote speaker Damion Crawford, Jamaica’s Minister of Entertainment and Tourism, 20 entrepreneurs were honored.
Millennium Business Awards recipients included Craig Davis, vice president of Urban Promotions for EMI Records; Randal Pinkett, chairman and CEO of BCT Partners; Diane Huey and Janice Huey, co-owners of Huey’s Chueys; and Road International Disco – DJ Roy & Wayne Jackson.
Nina Simone Awards winners were songwriter/singer/composer/musician Ricardo Mendoza and celebrity photographer Rowena Husbands.
Power 105.1 FM radio disc jockey, DJ Norie, and Rene John-Sandy, co-founder and executive director of the Hip Hop Loves Foundation were among the Professional Service Awards winners.
The Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Awards was founded in 2006 by Carl Gray of the Unified Network of Business Professionals.
