The 20th New York African Film Festival kicked off with a reception and screening of Guelwaar, a film directed by the father of African cinema, Ousmane Sembène on Wednesday April 3, 2013 at the Walter Reade Theater.
The screening was followed by a panel discussion featuring Samba Gadjigo, Sembene’s longtime friend and biographer.
