Keep A child Alive Global Ambassador Alicia Keys helps raise $4 million to fight against HIV/AIDS

A few months after her visit in Harlem, Keep A child Alive Global Ambassador Alicia Keys hosted the 10th Annual Black Ball, on November 7, 2013 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan.

The star-studded evening, celebrates every year the work of Keep a Child Alive, which grants funds to community-based organizations to provide free lifesaving HIV treatment to children and families affected by HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa and India.

Keep A child Alive raised 4 million dollars that evening. Billionnaire Stewart Rahr who was the owner of the “largest privately owned pharmaceutical distributor in the world” contributed half of the amount.

Pharrell Williams, Carole King, Roy Ayers, Kathleen Battle, Laura Mvula, and Swizz Beatz were among the artists who performed that evening.
