Designer Omar Salam presented his premiere runway of the Sukeina Fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection on February 24, 2012, at the Four Seasons Hotel. The collection was made up of luxurious fabrics, unexpected interpretations of coats, dresses and perfectly proportioned pants. Omar Salam was born in Dakar, in the Republic of Senegal. He started sewing at an early age, inspired by his mother, Sukeina, who would stitch together different pieces of fabric and patterns in the most creative ways. After working for fashion designer Madame Sonia Rykiel then for Christian Lacroix, Omar decided to pursue his own point-of-view in design and created Sukeina.
