Amid growing concerns within the Democratic Party and facing health challenges, President Joe Biden announced on Sunday, July 21, 2024, that he will not seek re-election. Instead, he has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential nomination.
Following this announcement, several prominent Democrats, including Governor Kathy Hochul and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have publicly expressed their support for Harris.
Concerns about Biden’s age and his poor performance in the first televised debate against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump have led many Americans to question his ability to continue serving as president.
By listening to the American people, he pledged to serve, Biden aims to prevent a repeat of the 2016 election that could potentially lead to another term for Trump.
