On May 5, 2022, New York State Senator Cordell Cleare held, with the Harlem Muslim community, an Eid celebration at the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building.
Several youths, including Awa Sane and Talia Muhammad, were honored that evening.
The event was organized in partnership with Harlem Community Islamic Center, Harlem Islamic Cultural Center, Masjid Allah, Masjid Assalam Walker, Masjid Aqsa Salam, Masjid Firdhaus, Masjid Keur Serigne Touba Mica, Murid Islamic Community in America, Masjid Muhammad Ali, Masjid Maylu Maram Islamic Center, Masjid Quba, Masjid Rouchoudi, Masjid Malcolm Shabazz, Masjodus Sabar, Masjid Timbuktu Islamic Center, Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood, Muhammad Mosque #7, and Sopey Shaykhul Khadeem School.
