Sandra Lindsay, the Queens nurse who became the first person in the United States to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, led on July 7, 2021 the Hometown Heroes parade honoring essential workers and served as Grand Marshal.
The Ticker Tape Parade kicked off from Battery Park and traveled north along Broadway to City Hall.
The parade featured 10 bands including Jessie’s Girl and 14 specialty vehicles.
