Women In the Black, the Harlem-based nonprofit empowering African-American women-owned businesses, has partnered with Healthfirst to create a nine-part series that began in May during Mental Health Awareness Month to help to eradicate the stigmas associated with mental health.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the mental health of women business owners and entrepreneurs.
The workshops will help women recognize their feelings, find the routines that inspire and lift them up, remove toxic relationships and influences, join the conversation with others and connect to a path to recovery as they work towards living a healthy lifestyle and incorporating mental-health tools.
The dates of the nine-part series are as follows:
May 4th: Super Woman Side Effects: Stress, Anxiety and Isolation
May 11th: She Hurts, She Cries, but You Can’t See the Depression In Her Eyes
May 18th: What’s Best For You- Guilt-Free Living
May 25th: Break the Silence on Abuse and Violence
Jun.15th: Better Sleep for a Better Life
Sep . 14th: Black Lives Really Matter-Racism Can’t win
Oct.12th: From the Edge to a Safe Space: How to Ask for Help
Nov. 16th: The Comeback is Stronger than the Set Back
Woman In the Black is offering a free gift with every conversation. Gifts must be picked up at The Brownstone located at 24 East 125th Street, NY 10035.
