Washington, DC, US- The US has congratulated Lesotho on the 47th anniversary of the African nation’s independence being marked Friday 4 Oct., assuring that both nations will continue to build on their strong legacy of cooperation.
”Lesotho is a longstanding friend and partner of the United States. Together, our countries are creating new opportunities for future generations of Basotho by working to strengthen democratic institutions and the rule of law, improve public health, and promote sustainable economic growth,” Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement.
”I am proud of the work we have both undertaken in the battle against HIV/AIDS, and we will continue our close partnership with Lesotho to achieve our mutual goal of a stable, healthy, and prosperous society for all Basotho,” he added.
