29 May 2013. El Fasher: UNAMID peacekeeper, Captain Ajaya Rana, from the Nepalese special forces, participates in the commemoration of the International Day of the United Nations Peacekeepers at the UNAMID headquarters in El Fasher, North Darfur.
UNAMID has currently deployed 24,441 peacekeeper in Darfur (15,241 military, 4,737 police and 4,463 civilian personnel). The mission was formally stablished in July 2007. Since then, 44 peacekeepers has given their lives for the peace in Darfur.
