The Association of Senegalese in America and the African Advisory Council (AAC) are calling for action after two Senegalese children attending I.S. 318 Elementary School located in the Bronx were assaulted on Friday, October 24, 2014.
The two brothers, respectively in 6th and 8th grade, were brutally beaten while the perpetrators shouted EBOLA. They were rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
“These kind of acts should be condemned and will not be tolerated,” said Pape Drame, president of the Association of Senegalese in America in a statement released Sunday.
The African Advisory Council who will meet today with the school’s leadership staff is demanding “corrective measures that will stop bullying and violence against our children and equal protection guarantee under the law.”
A press conference is also scheduled today at 1pm at the Senegalese Association headquarters in Harlem.
