Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – One of the greatest Tunisian poets, Ali al-Aswad Marzouki, died Tuesday at age 70 in the Tunisian town of Douz after a long illness.
The sources said with the death of Marzouki, Tunisia had lost a great authentic poet known in the Arab world for his poems.
He left behind hundreds of poems that deal with the situation of Arabs and Muslims.
Marzouki was one of the greatest reformers of popular poetry in Tunisia.
