Lome, Togo (PANA) – The 20th edition of Togo’s beauty contest was officially launched on Friday in Lome, the Togolese capital.
The final of the event, under the theme: “Information and Communication Technology for education of rural youth”, will be held on August 30, at the Palais des Congrès, the organisers said.
The competition to name Togo’s beauty queen was launched in 1995 and has become one of the country’s biggest cultural events.
Organisers said applications should be submitted between March 24, and June 27, and only childless single girls with Togolese citizenship would be allowed to participate.
Participants must be aged between 18 and 25 years and be fluent in French.
