Lomé, Togo (PANA) – More than 9 tons of counterfeit drugs have been seized in Togo following a joint operation conducted from May 27 to May 29 by the security forces supported by customs and health partners.
Togolese officials told journalists that the huge haul of fake drugs was worth US$200,000, which is equivalent to about 100 million FCFA.
They include analgesics, anti-inflammatories, anti-malarials, antibiotics, anti anemic, pest control, multi-vitamins and aphrodisiacs, it said
The operation was conducted simultaneously in a dozen countries in the sub-region, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
