The Africa-America Institute 65th Anniversary Gala was held on September 25, 2018 at the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan.
The international organization dedicated to strengthening human capacity of Africans, honored that evening H.E. Filipe Nyusi on behalf of the People of Mozambique; H.E. Professor Hassana Alidou, Ambassador of the Republic of Niger; Dr. Austin Demby, Deputy Director, Health Resources and Services Administration; Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah, founders of Studio 189 and Gilead Sciences.
Actor Marion H. “Pooch” Hall, Jr was the master of ceremony and several artists including Bettie LaVette, DJ Natasha Diggs, Keyon Harold, Tiga Jean Baptiste, Melanie Charles, and ABADA Capoeira performed.
