State Senator Cordell Cleare partnered, on April 13th, 2024, with Muslim community leaders City Councilmember Yusef Salaam and Assemblyman Charles D. Fall, Assemblywoman Inez E. Dickens, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, local mosques, and organizations to host her 3rd Annual Eid al-Fitr celebration in Harlem, at the Children’s Aid Dunlevy Milbank Center.
The event featured performances such as African drumming by Street Corner Resources, live jazz by Dr. John “Satchmo” Mannan, presentations by the Junior F.O.I Drill Team and the MGT Vanguard Drill Team, uplifting rap by Miss Undastood, and a fashion show by Fatimah Obsessions.
Many migrants and families, including those of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Tyre Nichols, and Ajike Owens attended the event.
