The South African Consulate General in New York, in partnership with the African Fashion Council and Jaguar Land Rover SA, hosted on September 6, 2024, a welcome press mixer for five South African female designers selected to participate in this year’s New York Fashion Week.
The event featured a fireside chat with the designers—Gugu Peteni, Manthe Ribane Liebmann, Kenelwe Mothoa, Thando Ntuli, and Tshakani Mashaba—moderated by fashion expert Constance White.
These designers, chosen through a partnership between Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and the Give Her A Crown initiative, which is dedicated to empowering women, will present their collections on September 11, 2024, at Chelsea Factory in Manhattan.
