The Union of Sierra Leonean Organizations in New York State hosted the 51st independence celebration of the Republic of Sierra Leone on April 27, 2012 at the Afrika House in Brooklyn.
VIP guests included H.E. Shekou Toure, Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, who was the keynote speaker of the event and NYPD Community Liaison Sidique Wai.
DJ Ansu Vangahun, kept the crowd on the dance floor after the performances of international Sierra Leonean artists Anzania Steady and Candy Gal.
