Senator Bill Perkins hosted a Six Annual Eid Celebration on August 10, 2013 at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building in Harlem.
The Eid Celebration, which marks the end of Ramadan, started on the plaza before heading to the third floor of he building. It included a martial arts presentation by the New Breed Life Arts, spoken word, Quranic recitations, percussions, Kora and Sitar performances as well as a presentation on the significance of Ramadan by Imam Abukarriem Shabazz.
The event was co-sponsored by several Muslim organizations including the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood Inc, Masjid Aqsa, Women in Islam Inc, Murid Islamic Community in America, and Harlem Islamic Cultural Center among others.
