The Teamsters Union along with African Immigrant New Yorkers, immigrant rights organizations, sanitation reform advocates and City officials held a press conference on May 9, in Manhattan to demand accountability and denounce the cover up of Mouctar Diallo’s death by Sanitation Salvage, the Sanitation company that employed Diallo under the books.

Mouctar Diallo was run over by the truck he was working on in November 2017. Police were originally told that Diallo was unknown to the company and was reported to be a “crazed homeless person.”
