Africa-America Institute hosted a reception and a private screening of the film A United Kingdom on February 7, 2017 at the Paley Center for Media in Manhattan.
A panel discussion with actor and producer David Oyelowo, former U.S. Ambassador Michelle Gavin, Director Amma Asante and AAI CEO and President Kofi Appenteng followed the screening.
A United Kingdom, in select theaters since February 10, narrates a love story between Sir Seretse Khama, Botswana’s founding president and his wife Ruth Williams Khama and his brilliant maneuvers leading up to Botswana’s independence.
