Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray hosted yesterday, August 27, 2014, a reception in celebration of the West Indian American and Caribbean Heritage at Gracie Mansion.
Chirlane McCray who is of Barbadian and St Lucian descent, welcomed the crowd in the “people’s home” and expressed her pride in being a Caribbean American before letting her husband share some of his administration’s achievements and plans for the city.
De Blasio ended his speech by confirming his attendance to one of the most of exciting event of the 47th Annual New York Carnival, the Labor Day Parade, scheduled September 1, 2014, on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn.
