Bamako, Mali (PANA) – Some 6,650 formal jobs were created in Mali between January and March this year, the Malian minister of Employment and Professional training, Mahamane Baby, said on Wednesday while presenting his quarterly report on employment.
Job creation is most significant in the district of Bamako, the capital, with 3,727, followed by the regions of Koulikoro and Kayes with 734 and 607 jobs respectively, he said.
“The northern regions recorded the lowest number of jobs created with 135 in Timbuktu and 20 in Gao.”
According to Baby, 50% of the jobs were created in the service sector.
