The Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center celebrated Malcolm X Day, the 97th birthday celebration for El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, on May 19, 2022.
The event featured performances by Maimouna Youssef aka Mumu Fresh, Joél Leon, Claudian Hayden, and a panel discussion with BMike, Rosa Clemente, Jasiri Basel, and Noor.
Malcolm X’s third daughter Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz attended the event.
