Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Several rockets and other missiles pounded Tuesday the district of Enjila, western Tripoli, leaving several persons dead and injuring many others in a new sign of fresh outbreak of fighting after a few days of calm in the Libyan capital.
The missiles followed the exchange of bombs in the western zone of the capital between armed groups in Janzour, western suburb of Tripoli, affiliated to the coalition “Fajr Libya”, that includes fighters from Misrata and armed groups of Ouerchefana, western Tripoli, security sources said without giving the exact number of victims.
Gory images published on social networks show babies injured and several dead covered in clothes stained with blood, others cut into shreds.
Since troops of the “Fajr Libya” seized Tripoli on August 23, after 40 days of fierce fighting and the withdrawal of the ex-rebels from Zenten, calm prevailed in the capital.
However, the “Fajr Libya” troops have been accused, particularly by the government, of perpetrating executions against the inhabitants of several Tripoli districts, including killings, abductions and arbitrary arrests.
