Kenyan Runners Lead the New York City Marathon in Harlem

Professional African runners from Kenya led the New York City Marathon as they passed through Harlem around 10:35 a.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Sheila Chepkirui from Kenya was at the front of the women’s group, closely followed by last year’s winner, Hellen Obiri, and Ethiopia’s Senbere Teferi.

In the men’s group, Evans Chebet from Kenya commanded the race, trailed by Somali-Dutch runner Abdi Nageeye and fellow Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor.
