Ilyasah Shabazz, the third daughter of Malcom X and Betty Shabazz, hosted the 94th celebration of life & legacy of El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz emceed by Cheryl Wills on May 19, 2019 at the Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center located in Washington Heights.
Dr. Leonard Jeffries, Aisha Al-Adawiya, Chris Noble and Yusef Abdus Salaam were honored during the event, which also included a panel discussion with the daughters of the movement Stacy Lynch, Ilyasah Shabazz, Suzanne Kay, Keisha Sutton-James and Dominique Sharpton.
The evening’s performers were the Drummers of Abishai, Lyrical Faith, She-Salt, Zaheer Ali, Claudia Hayden, Ayanna Gregory and Claudia Hayden.
