Tripoli, Libya – A group in Libya has called for the formation of a unity government saddled with ending the ongoing security, political, social and economic crises in the North African nation.
The call by the ‘Libyan forces for national salvation’, which comprises intellectuals, politicians, researchers and members of the civil society, is part of the initiative by the movement to end the crisis.
Other proposals by the group include a review of the work of the General National Congress (parliament) and the Provisional Government, and the suspension of political activities pending the establishment of a national constitution that determines the laws governing political parties.
It also called on all Libyan political forces to ensure that their activities are peaceful in other to engender national reconciliation.
