Dakar, Senegal (PANA) – The first case of the deadly Ebola virus has tested positive in Senegal, the Senegalese Minister of Health, Eva Marie Coll Seck, said on Friday in a news conference.
Seck said that a 21-year-old Guinean, a student of Conakry University, came on August 26, at the infectious disease service of the Fann hospital in Dakar, with the first symptoms of the disease.
He was immediately isolated and samples carried out on him showed the presence of the Ebola virus in his body.
Authorities said he is benefiting from intense medical health care and that his state of health is stable.
