The Pan-African media company Face2face Africa will honor today business mogul Dr. Mo Ibrahim, fashion icon Alek Wek, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti, entrepreneur Bethlehem Alemu and general manager of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors Masai Ujiri at the FACE List Awards.
The award ceremony taking place at NYU Skirball Center is part of its annual Pan-African Weekend kicked off with the Young Africans Committed to Excellence (YACE) Generation NeXt Master Class on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Permanent Mission of the African Union to the United Nations.
A Jazz Brunch on Sunday will follow the FACE List Awards and round off the weekend.
Last year’s honorees include:
– Dr. Carlos Lopes, executive secretary of the economic commission for Africa
– Anyiam-Osigwe, founder and CEO of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA)
– Aziz Gueye Adetimirin, founder and publisher of The Network Journal
– Korto Momolu, fashion designer
– George Ntim, founder of the African Development Foundation
– Jackie Appiah, actress
