Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (PANA) – Coffee futures price released Friday by the Coffee-Cocoa Council maintained an upward trend while cocoa fell.
Coffee futures price for December 2014 to January 2015 were on a higher course trading at 1,058 francs CFA/kg against 1,034 francs CFA/kg on Wednesday. The same direction was set to prevail from February to March 2015 with an indication that prices would go up to 1,071 francs CFA/kg against the previous level of 1,055 francs CFA/kg.
Cocoa futures price for the period of January to March 2015 indicated a drop of 17 francs CFA with settling at 1,676 francs CFA/kg against 1,693 francs CFA/kg Wednesday.
From April-June 2015, there is a slight increase of 10 F CFA on a trading to 1,656 francs CFA/kg against the previous tag of 1,666 francs CFA/kg.
Minimum prices guaranteed to producers at the beginning of the marketing year remained stable with 850 francs CFA/kg for cocoa and 650 francs CFA/kg for coffee.
