Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) – A medical and surgical assistance project for the vulnerable and poor people has begun in Pointe-Noire, Congo’s main economic centre, in the south of the country, the Congolese ministry of Health and Population, said on Tuesday in a statement.
Initiated by the Association for Congo’s Economic Development (ADECO), the 10-year project aims at helping vulnerable groups to benefit from free medical and surgical care.
Persons identified and declared as needy, particularly the elderly and physically handicapped, and poor young girls, will benefit from free care in all their consultations and medical tests.
The other services and pharmaceutical products would be subsidised, the statement said.
