Columbia University hosts 11th Annual African Economic Forum

The 11th Annual African Economic Forum (AEF) was held last weekend at Columbia University’s School of Law in Harlem.

This year’s conference themed Africa Rising: Emergent Perspectives from the Frontier kicked off on April 4, with a festival of South African theatre, dance and music featuring the play “Ndebele Funeral,” and bands Tuelo & Her Cousins and Got Zulu!

On April 5, keynote speakers such as Raila Amolo Odinga, former Prime Minister of Kenya; Professor Emmanuel Nnadozie, the Executive Secretary of the African Capacity Building Foundation; Wale Tinubu, Oando PLC Chief Executive, and Rosalind Kainyah, managing director, Kina Advisory Limited and Kina Investments Limited addressed the audience.

Co-sponsored by Columbia Business School, the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia Law School, and the Mailman School of Public Health, the forum also included panel discussions, networking sessions, a career fair, and a gala.
