Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Egypt is actively preparing to host an international conference for Libya’s rebuilding after the formation of a national coalition government, which is waiting for the approval by the Libyan House of Representatives (Parliament), the Egyptian deputy Foreign Affairs minister, Ossama Majdoub said on Sunday.
The Egyptian newspaper Al Youm Al Sabaa quoted Mr. Majdoub as saying that Egypt would be a key actor in Libya’s rebuilding process and would host an international conference in that respect.
He said that no date had yet been set and consultations were being undertaken on the issue with relevant countries.
The deputy foreign minister said that a number of countries had expressed their enthusiasm with the Egyptian proposal and confirmed their strong participation in the conference that would be held in Cairo.
