Mayoral candidate Ray McGuire, whose main campaign promise is to “help build a better, fairer New York,” was in East Harlem this week to receive the endorsement of Assembly Member Robert J. Rodriguez.
Assembly Member Rodriguez, representing the 68th District, made the announcement on March 23, 2021 in East Harlem. Rodriguez said he sided with McGuire, who he felt embraced values like community and support, that were important to New Yorkers.
The endorsement took place at La Marqueta on 115th Street and Park Avenue before the two politicians toured the neighborhood to hear residents’ concerns.
64-year-old businessman McGuire is one of the Black mayoral candidates along with Maya Wiley, Eric Adams and Dianne Morales among others, competing for the democratic primary pick in June 2021.
