The Apollo Theater vibrated last week to the rhythm of Africa for the second edition of Africa Now, a four-day festival celebrating the contemporary African music scene.
The festival’s main event, which took place on the main stage of the Theater on April 5, 2014, opened with Malian songstress Fatoumata Diawara, followed by the Senegalese trio Les Frères Guissé and the reggae/Afrobeat collective, Sierra Leone’s Refugee All Stars. Sierra Leonean singer Azania closed the evening hosted by Wumni with an intimate concert at Apollo Music Café.
