American activist and former member of the Black Panther Party Sekou Odinga released from prison on November 25, 2014, received a warm welcome from the Harlem Community on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Malcolm & Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center in Washington Heights.
The welcome home celebration hosted by three organizations, Existence is Resistance, The Sekou Odinga Defense Committee & The Campaign to Bring Mumia Home included rap performances, documentary screenings, a fundraiser and a keynote speech by Sekou Odinga.
Sekou Odinga was imprisoned in 1984 for activities related to the Black Liberation Army, a black nationalist militant organization operating in the US from 1970 to 1981.

Le militant américain et ancien membre du groupe Black Panther Party Sekou Odinga libéré de prison le 25 novembre 2014, a reçu un accueil chaleureux de la part de la communauté de Harlem le dimanche 15 février 2015 au Centre Commémoratif et Educatif Malcolm X et Dr. Betty Shabazz de Washington Heights.
La célébration de bienvenue organisée par trois organisations, Existence is Resistance, Sekou Odinga Defense Committee et Campaign to Bring Mumia Home a inclus des spectacles de rap, films documentaires, une collecte de fonds et un discours de Sekou Odinga.
