Mali’s new president, Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta

Bamako, Mali – About 20 heads of state, including President Francois Hollande of France, are expected on 19 September to attend the investiture of Mali’s new president, Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, sources at the investiture commission told PANA on Tuesday.
The first stage of the installation of the new Malian president is due for 4 September at the international conference centre in Bamako, where he will take the of oath of office before the Supreme Court.
The date was set by the Constitutional court in accord with the constitution, which demands that a newly elected president takes the oath of office 15 days after the official proclamation of the results by the Court.
In view of the investiture of the new president, two commissions have been set up to plan the ceremony for the handing over of power and visits of official guests.
