Honeydew, South Africa (PANA) – Nigerian job placement technology entrepreneur, Chris Kwekowe, has won the Anzisha 2015 African youth entrepreneurship prize.
Kwekowe, 22, took away the US$25,000 grand prize for youth entrepreneurs. Fabrice Alomo, 22, from Cameroon, was 1st runner-up while Mabel Suglo, 22, Ghana, was 2nd runner-up. Alomo’s prize was US$15,000 while Suglo took home US$12,500.
Kwekowe, founder of Slatecube, offers a job-relevant skills learning platform and job placement services.
Alomo, founder of My AConnect, aims to increase the ease with which unbanked people in Cameroon transact and gain access to financial services, while Suglo, fashion designer and founder of Eco Shoes, offers an assortment of shoes and accessories that are fashionable and Afro-themed, using recycled materials.
The Anzisha Prize is a partnership between African Leadership Academy and The MasterCard Foundation.
