Sao Paulo, Brazil (PANA) – “All my players are fit to start the match against Colombia,” said the coach of the Ivorian national team, Sabri Lamouchi, at a pre-match press conference here Wednesday which focused specifically on captain Didier Drogba and his temper while on the bench as a substitute in the Japan match.
While saying that he did not know if Drogba introduction in the second half made some impact on the Japanese, Lamoluchi said he recognized that the captain, as usual, played key role in the 2-1 defeat of their opponents.
“Within us, he plays key roles, he is a model, he is the captain and he has a key role to play in this tournament,” said Lamouchi.
According to him, the international reputation of Drogba intimidated the Japanese.
“The team needs him just like he needs others,” said the France-born coach.
“We will continue working as we always did,” he said of Thursday’s match against Colombia.
