Manaus, Brazil (PANA) – Croatia beat Cameroon 4-0 in their 2014 FIFA World Cup Group A match at the Arena Amazonia, in Manaus, to bundle the African team from the competition.
Cameroon has the final group match against hosts Brazil to play but that will do nothing to their position as they are firmly rooted to the bottom with no point after losing their first match to Mexico. Brazil and Mexico have four points each while Croatia have three.
This is the sixth straight loss by Cameroon in the World Cup after their glorious performance in 1990.
Ivica Olic scored in the 11th minute to put Croatia ahead before Ivan Perisic added the second after 48 minutes.
A brace by Mario Mandzukic in the 61st and 73rd minutes sealed the doom of Cameroon.
Cameroon were reduced to 10 men when Alex Song was sent off in the 40th minute.
