UN Women celebrates Black History month with new partnership with NAACP

UN Women celebrated Black History Month in the United States with the announcement on February 13, 2018 of a new partnership with Civil Rights organization NAACP that will promote gender equality in the continuing struggle to end racial inequality.

The annoucement took place at the UN Women Headquarters in Manhattan with Dr. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director, UN Women, Mr. Derrick Johnson, NAACP President & CEO, Mr. Leon Russell, NAACP Chairman, Mr. Kofi Appenteng, President & CEO, Africa-America Institute and Ms. Tolu Lewis-Tamoka, UN Women.
